Christians claim to hear from God and to have a relationship with Him.

But do they?

Check out this story:

Televangelist’s bodyguard ‘strangled wife and sons so he could marry his mistress’

I am curious as to why the Televangelist employer appears not to have heard from God and thus prevent this tragedy.

I know that if someone I knew and heard from regularly had told me that, I would have been able to alert the Police.

Televangelists claim to hear from and to know God. Something doesn’t seem to add up.

The Danger Of Misleading Religious Historical Revisionism

Finding out the truth is more important than holding onto my own own opinion. Well, it is to me anyway.

This is easier said than done however, especially when the lies are deeply embedded in our subconscious.

Parental, cultural, religious and societal early programming can warp young minds on a very deep level. I help people with a cure for this, however that is not the scope of this article today.

Today I want to discuss the danger of misleading religious historical revisionism.

Let’s look at this article:

The publishing sensation that made England conquer the world

I quote a sub headline from the article:

“The King James Bible is 400 years old this year: On Easter Sunday, one historian blasts a trumpet in its honour”

I also quote the author’s words:

‘The King James Bible has carried ideas of truth and freedom and justice and human dignity to the furthest corners of the globe,’ said David Starkey

OK, so let’s think carefully….

The British (English) created a vast empire (called British Empire) – at its peak it was the largest empire in history.

I am English, and a patriot; so this is not an anti British rant. I simply prefer to call a spade a spade. Partly because it helps clear the thinking.

I used to be a Christian minister and thus have a better understanding of the Bible than most. This however, is not an anti Bible rant.

The key point is; what is truth?

The King James Bible (KJV), or other Bibles for that matter, are credited with promoting ideas of truth, freedom, justice and human dignity by multitudes, not just the writer of the Daily Mail article.

Yet, let us examine the history of the British in context of the article….

We (I am British remember) travelled to many exotic, new places, met the local inhabitants and killed them. We plundered their lands, destroyed their way of life and ravaged the countryside.

Some examples….

Australia – we arrived, took over, broke the Aboriginals as a people, killing many of them, destroying much of their culture in the process

North America – early pioneers settled and then large numbers arrived from Britain. In America they speak English today, the Native American population has been treated abysmally and slavery was a huge problem until fairly recently. Now, I know that some of these issues occurred after the British lost control; however it was a British type/descended society heavily pickled in the KJV that did it. Check out this cool moving image charting the shrinkage of Native American Indian lands.

Africa – we went there, killing and taking over. Examples of the British atrocities abound.

Other places – I think you get my point……

Meanwhile, back home, our ‘wonderful’ Christian society (based on the KJV don’t forget) was abusing men, women and children in the Industrial Revolution. Having been a Christian nation for centuries it is clear we hadn’t learnt much about truth, freedom, justice and human dignity.

So let’s call a spade a spade.

History (not Alex Webley) will tell you that KJV reading peoples have been some of the worst assholes to walk the planet. I said ‘some’.

Religion has been responsible for so much suffering in the world. It is time to stop being religious and become spiritual instead.

Being spiritual doesn’t necessarily mean being peaceful, however it does mean being truthful about history.

Let’s be honest. It’s a good start.

Does Fox Medicine Cause Problems For Your Business?

Some of you might find this post a little unusual, especially coming from such a logical chap as me.

What the heck is fox medicine?

Simply speaking, people can have such a strong association or affinity with an animal or bird (creature) that they have some of its traits, characteristics or abilities; some of which can be positive or negative in effect. Such a creature can be what is known as a ‘power animal’ or ‘totem’.

‘Fox medicine’ in part refers to the influence and aspects of fox which apply to the lives of particular humans.

When I was young, my granddad (who was one of only 3 decent relatives I ever had) used to often comment that I was as cunning as a fox. There were many times when I outwitted him and others in my family. In the case of most of the latter, it was sometimes a very good thing as many of them did not have my best interests at heart and some where overtly hostile.

I grew up in the English countryside – a domain of foxes. I loved the smell of fox dens but was too big to explore them. I never did like the fox hunts – a group of large bullies on horse back with packs of dogs hunting some poor terrified fox. I enjoyed The Bellstone Fox movie and must admit to getting a thrill when the fox led the pack of pursuing murderous dogs into the path of an oncoming train. Many dogs died. I kind of knew how the poor fox felt – he had to eliminate his enemy – there was nothing cruel about it – he had to survive and the dogs were his enemy (along with cruel people on horses).

Why do people get a thrill out of hunting a small animal with the odds massively stacked in their favor? To me, it seems so little minded and cowardly. They should perhaps join the Army and pick on someone their own size. Or time travel to ancient Rome and join the gladiatorial games to fight a large, skilled opponent – how would they feel then?

Anyway, back to fox medicine……

In my early life, I used fox medicine in both good and bad ways. I did not have the wisdom to chose most of the time. At times, it got me into trouble. At others, it saved me.

In later life, I worked undercover and found it very easy to do so. Even deep psychological techniques needed when working undercover were second nature to me.

I also found it hard to make progress with marketing at times, despite having good abilities and experience in sales and marketing. And despite having great ability in things I do – as reported by countless customers, friends and acquaintances. Some of my problems were due to the effects of mental illness which I suffered from earlier in life, however others were due to the strength (and misuse) of fox medicine. For example; I quote from this excellent article on fox medicine by Lynx Graywolf:

People who are strong in Fox medicine yet who are unaware they have this ability may find themselves to be ignored or unseen by others. More than once I have heard such individuals complain ” people walk right into me, it’s as though I am not there at all!” Those in business who have Fox as a primary totem too frequently find that their marketing methods, no matter how diligent one is with them, bears little fruit. People pass them over even when the person’s business is in plain sight! Often such folks feel discouraged because no matter what they do, they simply cannot seem to attract anyone’s attention.

If you have an affinity with the fox, especially a strong one, and have been experiencing problems with your marketing efforts then you might find this information of help. The important thing however is to DO something to fix the issue – don’t simply heave a sigh of relief and sit there blaming the issue. We need to take personal responsibility to fix things.

How come I have fox so strongly?

It is partly because I had such awful parents – I had to survive. When you are weak, as I was when a child and on into adulthood until I got healed (mind wise) and came into my powers, fox medicine is ideal. Fox is very strong in me, though I use the medicine differently today.

A Christian with no inner peace of mind?

Christian peace of mind?

The Christian hotelier found guilty of gay bias looks set to lose her home and asks: So who’s really being persecuted?

Mrs Bull, the Christian hotelier, is quoted as saying about her Christian husband Peter Bull:

“The uncertainty of the future would take Peter down. He doesn’t cope well with stress.”

This is interesting, but not unexpected or surprising. Christians make much of having a ‘relationship’ with God, the peace that goes with it, faith and certainty of God’s help.

These Christians were found guilty of discrimination. Their religion causes their discrimination, but seems not to enable Peter to experience inner peace of mind. Doesn’t he know deep in his bones that God loves him? How can he love others if he does not know he is loved himself? Perfect love casteth out fear – 1 John 4:18.

So, we have religious dogma without love. Nasty eh! And sad.

Disclaimer: I am not gay, or bi and have never even had a fantasy of that nature. My point is aimed at the religiosity.

What Does It Mean To Be Pagan?

Someone said:

“I am pondering the words we label ourselves with. In the last debate about the “pagan” label I was told a few times that anything “non-Christian” was “Pagan” – but then for that argument to work, it needs to be reversible, and anything “non-Pagan is not necessarily Christian” is it? So what does it mean to be “Pagan” ?”

I replied:

I have an ironic slant on the issue…I am a Shaman and do counselling, life coaching and executive coaching. In part of my work I teach people how to heal through various forms of shamanic journeying. At times I get asked by people with a Christian aspect: Is it Ok if I see Jesus healing me, hugging me etc. I say fine. Spirit will meet people where they are at and affect them visually (for example) in ways which mean something to them. Spirit is focused on getting a result, not on religious dogma or protocol.

I might add that the Christian modality of ‘inner healing’, practiced by many fundamentalist Christians/pentacostals, is actually a form of shamanic journeying! They don’t know this of course and refer to people like me as servants of satan and what I practice as ‘demonic’. Spirit of course has the last laugh. LOL. It is SO much better to seek and find truth, and to be humble.

My first impression is that it seems to make sense and I am someone with strong left AND right sides. I love both logic and the intuitive feminine aspects. In fact, I personally experience a lovely interweaving – just one example is that the ways of Spirit are based on law. I.e. if we think according to Spirit then we WILL get the result. Years ago, I watched Firefox (a movie with Clint Eastwood in it) – part of it was ‘think in Russian to fly the plane’. So it is with Spirit.

My Beautiful Cat – Nimue – Is Dead

My beautiful cat – Nimue is dead.

On Tuesday 24th August, Nimue was having a routine procedure under anaesthetic. Unfortunately she had a cardiac and respiratory arrest and died for 4 minutes. The vet and his team got her back, which in itself was a miracle. The vet said she was a ‘fighter’.

In time I will write more about the wonderful veterinary staff involved in the whole process, including those at the emergency care facility Nimue was taken to. We are very grateful for these wonderful people. Suffice to say now that there was some hope that Nimue would recover her faculties and health. Sadly, she did not, despite initial dramatic positive progress.

Nimue was put to sleep at our home last night, at approximately 20.10 hours Australian EST.

We are missing Nimue greatly of course – this last week has been terrible. Now she is gone.

Nimue is actually in a very special and happy place now. And the manner of her passing was special too.

Immediately before she was put to sleep, I cradled her head in my palm for around 20 minutes. Nimue was lying on our bed with her head towards the edge at the side. We did not plan it that way – she had crawled there after earlier resting with her head on my pillow on the other side of the bed (she had gone there of her own accord anyway – in keeping with what she did when she was well; she loved where I had been). In the final minutes, as we kneeled by the side of the bed – with the vet (Kevin) on my right, Brenda my wife on my left and Anoushka my daughter behind us, I conducted a Shamanic ritual (simple one) for Nimue to help her pass into the next world.

Before she was injected with the lethal dose (a drip catheter was already in her leg due to earlier hospital treatment) a deep peace descended on the room during the ritual……..

No doubt we will all always remember the deep sense of peace that arose in the room before she passed. Brenda tells me (I had my eyes closed most of the time while assisting Nimue’s passing) that Nimue’s face, before she passed (was injected), became very serene – at the time of the sense of peace in the room).

Once we were in that state of peace and had been there a little while I gave the OK for the vet to administer the drug (needle was already waiting in the injector thing).

Before Nimue died (was injected), in the last moments she became calm and serene – everyone felt the peace – the vet, Brenda, Anoushka, me and of course Nimue. The feeling of peace was so thick it felt like you could cut it with a knife.

This was very important for Nimue, but also for us because we will all never forget it – it is burned into our deep psyche – we know what we felt and saw. This will help us heal because we are the ones left behind, hurting. Nimue is not hurting now.

We were very privileged to experience Spirit coming for Nimue like that.

I will always miss Nimue, and though I failed her healing wise (we were winning until sometime between the early hours of the morning on Friday 27th August and Saturday 28th) I am grateful to have helped her pass, and grateful to Spirit.

Nimue was a very special and unusual cat – she was psychic, had a massive mind, huge personality and was the most agile cat I have ever seen. I will always love her.

Whilst I felt terrible pain during this momentous battle, I never lost my joy – but that is because my joy is not of this world.

Real joy and real love come from Spirit…..which is where Nimue is now.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am in a thousand winds that blow,

I am the softly falling snow.

I am the gentle showers of rain,

I am the fields of ripening grain.

I am in the morning hush,

I am in the graceful rush

Of beautiful birds in circling flight,

PS: If anyone sends flowers, please ensure that they do not include Lilies because we have other cats. Lilies are very toxic to cats – even the pollen is dangerous. Any bouquets containing Lilies would have to be binned.

I had to kill a locust this afternoon

I had to kill a locust this afternoon – it was missing one leg after having been caught and mauled by the cat.

I apologised to the locust that it had been suffering for some hours. Earlier, I had to go out in a hurry and was not sure where the cat had left it.

When I returned, I looked for and eventually found the locust.

Then, with compassion, I crushed it quickly under a flat flower pot stand so it would not suffer anymore.

I was interested to note the level of compassion I had and that it was not from me, but from Spirit. All credit to Spirit. I am grateful that my character has changed for the better. Not through some set of rules, religious dogma or similar; but through relationship with Spirit.

I recall how earlier in my life I would have just thrown it out into the garden (where it would have died slowly) without a second thought.

There is hope for you too.

Am now asking myself: how important was it that I had to leave so quickly?

And in case you haven’t picked up on it….this post is not just about being nice to locusts (who in large numbers in some parts of the world cause terrible human suffering), it is about developing character and becoming attuned to the suffering of beings – whether they be human or otherwise. It is easier to entertain kind thoughts for cuddly looking creatures. But what about the impersonal – the depersonalized (such as insects tend to be)?

If you are cruel to insects then that says much about you. For those who still haven’t got the point…. I am not saying we should not kill locusts, mozzies or other insect pests – it is our attitude and character which matters.

What, then, is enlightenment from a Shamanic point of view?

******* here. I bumped into your own Black Shaman blog by mere chance, and what a chance?!!

To me, you seem to be a very, very honest and profound person. I feel connected to you in a way. I don’t know how and why.

Your smile in the photo depicted on your website along with the small beautiful kitten you had in your hands sends shills down my spine.

I wanted also to ask you a question, “What does shamanism think of enlightenment? What, then, is enlightenment from a shamanic point of view?”

Here is my reply:

Hello *******,

Thanks so much for your email and compliments.

Enlightenment is such a profound area that it is not possible to do it justice with the written word. It has to be experienced because it involves things which are not of our physical dimension and which can only be understood by actual knowing/experience.

Simply speaking, it includes:

the knowledge of our dependence upon Spirit and Spirits

an ability to have a ‘foot in both worlds’ and move there easily and at will

interaction with Spirit and Spirits – knowing them

a deep awareness that one is loved by Spirit

a healthy, balanced and considered love for others, environment and fauna

a deep dependence upon Spirit (deep humility and recognition that Spirit is the Source of all)

awareness that as we will pass into Spirit upon death we should live in Spirit now. Why wait?

knowledge and acceptance that the will of Spirit should prevail

wariness of our own opinion & ego

love for truth – not ‘my truth’ (contradictory), a brand of truth or such like; but reality

trust of Spirit

experiential joy

deep knowledge (living experience) that Spirit is our rock. When we are ‘burned’ there is nothing left standing but Spirit

emotional & mental health

an awareness that Shamanic techniques/phenomena can and do heal both bodies and minds

There is more.

Please also bear in mind that Shamanism is humanity’s original spirituality dating back tens of thousands of years before man and religion messed so much up.
