No pesky regulations (Online Advertising)

Hands Tied By Bureaucracy
“no pesky regulations”
This is a comment in an article about online advertising.
Here is the context:
Dr Mike Minehan, managing director of the Ideas Channel, said the shifting trend from television to the internet had been evident for a while, but was only now beginning to show what it can achieve.
“The internet is infinite – no time or space restrictions, no pesky regulations. YouTube has an audience that no TV network could ever dream of“.
“Agencies are just scratching the surface of what’s possible on the net. The new horizon is cyberspace and it is limitless,” he said.
The article: Agencies take online advertising to the next level is in some respects ‘writing on the wall’ for those with ‘ears to hear’ and ‘eyes to see’.
While there is a place for the right kind of wise regulations, the Internet is refreshingly free of many burdensome, irrelevant and ill thought out regulations. The Internet is in some ways like the last frontier of the wild west. A place for pioneers and thought leaders. A place where people can get things done. A place with few ‘stuffed shirts’.
In these times, business and individuals would be wise to keep up to date with the leading edges of Internet developments. Some developments, and associated implications, are more ‘obscure’; such as the increase and ease of communication between different people/language groups.
We tend to think the Internet is mature. It is not. It is very early days yet and we have not yet seen the ‘stampede’.
