Fear – deeper remedies.
In my recent post on fear: Fear – a different slant I touched on fear and its relationship to the in-built ‘screen’ of our mind.
So, how do we change the images that play across our mind; especially when we don’t necessarily know what is hidden in the depths of our psyche – waiting to manifest once certain triggers or catalysts are present?
There are a number of ways of effecting deep internal image change, however the one I will focus on here is that of Shamanic Journeying.
Many people have never even heard of Shamanic Journeying, let alone experienced it; yet the practice has been around for tens of thousands of years. The practice ‘fits like a glove’ with our psyche partly because it utilizes in-built aspects of of human nature.
First I will dispel some misconceptions about Shamanic Journeying:
- You do not need to become religious or some kind of spiritual ‘fanatic’.
- You do not need to give up your current religion or spirituality.
- You do not need to be a Shaman to undertake Shamanic Journeying.
- You do not need to be clever, special or spend a lot of money.
- You do not need to join any religious or spiritual group, club, movement or cult.
- You do not need to see a Shaman. (Though it can help and is usually a good policy).
- Some people have a list of formulas, rules or methods which they believe are necessary for Shamanic Journeying. Shamanism is very flexible, partly because it is in essence spiritual reality. The focus should therefore be on hearing from Spirit; not a staid formula or dogma.
What is Shamanic Journeying?
There are many definitions, or explanations, however I will tell a story to illustrate the point. The story is very simple; so as to enable as many people as possible to grasp the concepts. Why complicate things?
Tom closed his eyes and let his imagination start to follow a path…he walked through meadows for a while and then he came across a doorway – he opened the door and went inside. Two vague, but friendly forms embraced him and as they did he saw a time when he was struck with fear as a child. He felt some of the old fear start to surface but it was soon carried away by a river of love that he saw in his mind’s eye. He breathed out heavily and started to feel lighter. A wave of peace came over him and he realised that he felt as if he was floating in a warm pool. He watched the clouds drift past. After a while he knew it was time to return. In the days after his Journey, Tom noticed that he did not feel as fearful.
Shamanic Journeying will bring YOU into contact with spiritual entities and energies.
If you have a problem believing this then:
1) Have a read of Key Life Fix – an article I wrote which contains some key stuff, some of which is of especial relevance to sceptics and doubters of spiritual reality.
2) Don’t worry. Partly because Shamanism is part of humanity’s in-built nature, the methods will still work even if you do not believe in them. An example of this is that when your mind is “reprogrammed” and healed by visualizations it does not matter what ‘label’ is put on the practice. And some of the ‘things’ you see during the process can be put down to your ‘imagination’ (when in fact the real source may be spiritual). Faith can of course improve outcomes and/or lead to more profound insights.
Guarantee: if you genuinely start to seek help through Shamanic Journeying you WILL discover that it is very real. You won’t need to believe me, or anyone else because you will KNOW.
Shamanic Journeying can involve many more things than I have covered here. This article covers just one small part of it. It is designed to help people who have no idea about the subject to get some understanding, particularly from a personal development and inner healing perspective. The article is not aimed at spiritual adepts.
Personal note: Shamanic Journeying and Shamanism in general was the key to my own inner healing of the really deep, bad stuff. I will be writing more about this as time passes. In the earlier stages of my healing I did not know it was Shamanism which was healing me.
I know this article will be, to some people, a somewhat unsettling blog post. If so, one thing I suggest is that you consider my writings in general. I think many will agree that I am an educated, intelligent individual. If you agree, then I suggest you ask yourself: “What is it that Alex knows that I don’t?” All you need to do is to start seeking – and you will find out.
