Smart people don't know it all….. Eh?
Smart people don’t know it all.
Probably better said…. really smart people know that they don’t know it all.
Here’s why:
“No one lives long enough to learn everything they need to learn starting from scratch. To be successful, we absolutely, positively have to find people who have already paid the price to learn the things that we need to learn to achieve our goals.”
- Brian Tracy: Personal and business training author, speaker, and consultant
Me? I’m grateful for smart people. They make my life easy; easier.
Frankly, it amazes me how so many people try to belittle or pull down smart people. This is common here in Australia where it is called the “Tall Poppy Syndrome”
Sometimes smart people can be arrogant gits but if we spend our time focusing on their ego, or on how they walk as if they are wearing a suppository, then we will miss what we can learn from them. Why waste your time? Just focus on the good stuff and appreciate that. And who knows, if the arrogant git you are listening to gets enough appreciation he just might start to change.
And by the way, the smartest people of all know that arrogance is actually the enemy of being truly smart. After all, how can a know it all learn anything new?
Humility is a key basis of being really smart.
