Imagination – why you need to be careful how you use it.

| January 27, 2009 | 0 Comments

Imagination – we all possess one; and we all use it.

We need to be very careful how we use imagination.

And yet; are we?

Are we careful how we use our imagination?

Are YOU careful about how your imagination is used?

I suggest that the majority of us are probably not.

Why is this so?

Partly because we do not have a deep understanding of the power of imagination.

If we did, we would use it differently. The world would be a much better place as a result too.

Let’s examine this quote:

“Fantasies are more than substitutes for unpleasant reality; they are also dress rehearsals, plans. All acts performed in the world begin in the imagination.”

Barbara Grizzuti Harrison – Author and Publicist

This quote makes a lot of sense. The quote, among other things, helps us to ‘meditate’ on the fact that action flows from thought, and all the implications of such.

But wait…there is more:

When we look more closely and ‘rephrase’ the quote along the lines of …

What I am doing, and feeling, right now began in my imagination. Some of this imagining began many years, months, weeks or days ago. Some entered my mind when I was very young – too young even to be able to properly assess whether it was right or not. I am the sum of my imaginations.

….we get a renewed and more in depth perspective. We can also get an idea of how powerful our imagination is.

Most people are crippled by their imagination in some way.

Yes, I meant to use the word crippled. A strong one yes, but exact.

Each one of us has areas where our imagination is crippled and unable to perform at its best – for the benefit of ourselves, and others.

What do you think, really think, deep down in that secret place from where your essence springs?

Who are you?

What inner imagination ‘program’ or ‘software’ are YOU running on?

There are antidotes to this problem and I will be discussing them in detail as time progresses. Some articles will appear on a new blog I am building, others will appear here.
