Are your lungs dying?
Good health is the most precious aspect of life. Worst case scenario is that without it you are dead!
And those lungs of yours? How are they keeping? You rely on them for so much.
When I was young I suffered from Asthma, however it was not actually diagnosed until I was in my mid 30′s. It was not severe, which is one reason I expect it was missed by various health screens over the years. I recall struggling a bit with running and swimming at school. The worst of the problems in my youth however was with British Army training – at times my lungs felt like they were on fire because the trainers drove us so hard. I remember being on army bases and seeing full time regular soldiers who smoked, but who were able to run really fast and hard – I could not understand why and of course having no idea that I had Asthma thought that my experience was normal.
Part of the reason for my failure to pass the medical for full time regular (non reserve) British Army entry, and later that of the French Foreign Legion, was my inability to cope with aerobic stuff.
Earlier, I did not listen to Sergeant Smith (39 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, 4th Armored Division, BAOR) whom I clearly remember warning all of us not to take up smoking. Being such an idiot in my youth I took it up not long after.
These days I do not smoke, having stopped years ago.
I have come across some interesting information about Aerobics and lung function which I suspect is better, or more helpful, than the norm; however not being medically trained or qualified I will not comment further apart from saying that so far I am impressed; especially with the information about how we can exercise much more effectively in a shorter period of time.
I suggest that you review the material, which is produced by an American doctor (MD):
If you want to review his main website then you can do that here.
