Absorb and radiate happiness
Happiness is a point of view.
A strong statement I know, but true nonetheless.
Even if it were not true, then it can still be seen as an “anchor thought” and used to help bring stability to your life and mind. I suggest that even if you do not believe this particular definition of happiness, you can still use the concept. Here is what I mean;
Find something to appreciate. Do this as often as you remember to do so, and your world will transform.
Use your awareness or your imagination to bring happiness to this moment. There are probably many things you cannot change about your situation, however what is the real point of being down or depressed about it?
Absorb and radiate happiness. Besides helping yourself you will help others and guess what? Your life will become easier too!
Years ago, when I suffered from depression, one of the significant keys to my freedom was the stark realization that there was no point in being depressed – it achieved nothing – and that happiness was actually a choice. I decided to stop being depressed. (Note: I am not talking about repressing how one feels, or unsound and unhealthy mental practices).
Some of the concepts I have raised in this blog article are actually very profound and deep, with a multitude of interconnections with things I have not mentioned in the post. The concepts I have covered are realized by people progressively at differing levels of awareness/personal evolution. They are not the whole story. Don’t worry if you do not fully grasp the significance; just get what you can out of it and move forward.
Addendum – since writing this post last night (Australian time), by coincidence I received an email with a quote in it which is very relevant:
Happiness depends upon ourselves.
